Hilo Products began in 1938 with a simple vision: to bring fresh, local produce to Hawaii's communities. Founder Reiji Suzuki started by selling daikon and pineapples, personally delivering them by car to families in Hamakua and Ka'u.
The journey wasn't without challenges. In 1946, a powerful tsunami severely damaged their store in downtown Hilo. The Suzuki family rebuilt, only to face another devastating blow in 1960 when a second tsunami destroyed their warehouse. Refusing to give up, they relocated in 1962 to Maka'ala Street the same location we call home today.
Through resilience, hard work, and a commitment to honesty, Hilo Products has grown into one of Hawaii's most trusted and respected businesses. For over eight decades, we've stayed true to our roots: serving our community with quality products and the spirit of aloha.
